The 5th to
10th grade pupils of the school made an excursion to the stone age
village in Äänekoski. The day was memorable in many ways and gave
numerous ideas for lessons. It was interesting to find and investigate
tools with which people used in their everyday chores. The artefacts
included skins, bows and pottery. Simple but efficient traps initiated
lengthy discussions. Human figures were sitting around the fire in a dim
hut. The smell of smoke felt good and the beating of the leather drum
made the pupils dance.
